Position Description

Plan administrator for all employee benefits programs such as retirement plans; health care, term life insurance plans; short term disability and long-term disability, cancer, and critical illness.

Educate and share knowledge of plan options and advantages.

Ensures customer service/resolution for benefit inquiries across all locations.

Ensure prompt and accurate compliance and benefit records are accurately maintained and personal employee data is kept confidentially.

Evaluates benefits renewal quotations and makes recommendations to management. Develops company cost information for new plans and makes recommendations to management concerning sharing of cost between employer and employee.

Implement approved new plans and changes by preparing announcement material, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans to employees.

Conducts yearly open enrollment and arranges for enrollment of employees in optional plans. Work with ERS benefit vendors and conducts employee benefit seminars for ERS events. Revises and reissues all communications material on benefits from time to time. Advises and counsels management and employees on existing benefits.

Assist in 401k audit, weekly, quarterly and annually schedules (HSA/401k deposit, 401k loan, form 5500, audit 3rd party sick pay, W2 health premium summary).

Ensure all benefit plans are administered in accordance with company policies and procedures, plan documentation, contractual agreements and regulatory requirements (ERISA, DOL, IRS, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.).

Manages the company’s leave of absence programs.

Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. Maintains contact in person, and by phone or mail, with hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.

Manages maintenance of enrollment through employee portal, application, and claims records for all benefit plans.

Maintains compliance and accuracy of funding transactions, benefits enrollment and payroll premium deductions

Accountable for all monthly benefit bills reconciliation.

Other benefits related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail.

Combination of a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience in Benefits Administration.

Additional experience in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Health Care Administration or related field a plus

Ability to communicate and influence at all levels

Must have a strong working knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
